INTRODUCING PAUL POWERS - DMS TEAM
Meet Paul Powers, System Engineer at DMS. For the past eight years, Paul has played a vital role in supporting alternative provision (AP) schools and colleges—providing on-the-ground IT expertise and building trusted relationships with education teams across multiple sites.
Two days a week, Paul is the dedicated on-site engineer for a multi-academy trust that supports young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. His work is very much classroom-based, providing hands-on support to both staff and students. From quick fixes to more complex troubleshooting, Paul ensures everything IT-related runs smoothly. He also feeds back regularly to the Trust’s Network Manager—offering insights into what’s working well, what isn’t, and how things can be improved for that specific environment.
The other three days are spent with a multi-site AP college that Paul has supported since his very first day at DMS. Originally starting with just one day a week, his role has since expanded to three days, reflecting the value he brings. Over the years, Paul has led on various implementations—introducing new software, helping with digital transformation, and driving IT progress across the college.
Outside of work, Paul enjoys a mix of creativity and calm. He’s passionate about wildlife photography and finds peace in yoga, cycling, and spending time in nature—whether that’s exploring the woods or relaxing by the sea. He’s also a big fan of live music and enjoys going to gigs whenever he can.
With a calm, thoughtful approach and a deep understanding of the education sector, Paul brings consistency, care, and practical know-how to every site he supports. His long-standing relationships and ability to adapt to each school’s unique needs make him a valued part of the DMS team.
