Cyber Security Services — Protection Built Around Your Organisation

Cyber Security Services

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, protecting your business from cyber security threats is more crucial than ever. At DMS, we offer comprehensive cyber security services tailored to safeguard your organisation against a myriad of potential risks. Our proactive approach ensures your sensitive data remains secure, while our expert team provides ongoing support to maintain the highest standards of cyber resilience. With our cutting-edge cyber security solutions, you can confidently focus on your core business activities, knowing that your digital assets are well-protected.

Cyber attacks are no longer a risk reserved for large enterprises. Ransomware, phishing, and data breaches now regularly affect schools, SMEs, and mid-sized businesses. In most cases, basic security controls are either missing or misconfigured.

DMS provides layered cyber security services for organisations across the UK. We work with leading vendors including Fortinet, CrowdStrike, Heimdal, KnowBe4, Boxphish, and Malwarebytes ThreatDown. Whether you need a one-off assessment or ongoing managed security, we build the approach around your actual environment — not a generic package.

Good cyber security is not a single product or a one-time fix. In fact, it requires the right combination of tools, configuration, training, and ongoing management. Our team works across all of these areas, giving you a joined-up approach to security rather than a collection of disconnected solutions.

Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Scanning

Knowing you have a firewall is not the same as knowing it works. Penetration testing puts your defences under controlled pressure — simulating the techniques used by real attackers to find weaknesses before someone else does.

Vulnerability scanning complements this. It runs automated checks across your network, systems, and applications on a regular basis. As a result, misconfigurations, unpatched software, and security gaps get flagged as they emerge.

Together, they give you an accurate picture of your security posture rather than an assumed one — and a clear list of what needs fixing, in priority order.

Cyber Essentials & Cyber Essentials Plus

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed certification scheme. It verifies that an organisation has basic cyber security controls in place, covering five key areas: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection, and patch management.

Certification demonstrates to clients, insurers, and regulators that your organisation takes security seriously. It is also a requirement for some government contracts and procurement frameworks.

DMS supports organisations through both levels of certification:

Cyber Essentials — a self-assessment verified by an external certifying body, confirming your controls meet the required standard. For most organisations, this is the right starting point.

Cyber Essentials Plus — the same controls as Cyber Essentials, but with a hands-on technical assessment carried out by an independent assessor. This provides a higher level of assurance for organisations that need it.

    Microsoft Security Assessment

Many organisations running Microsoft 365 don’t have a clear picture of how secure their environment actually is. Default settings are rarely sufficient, and misconfigured tenants are one of the most common entry points for attackers.

As a Microsoft Solutions Partner, DMS assesses your full Microsoft 365 environment. We review your configuration against best practice and identify vulnerabilities. We also produce a Microsoft Secure Score with a prioritised list of remediation actions.

The result is a clear, honest view of where your organisation stands and what needs to change — without the need to commission a full-scale external audit.

    Email security

Email remains the most common entry point for cyber attacks. Phishing, business email compromise, and malware-laden attachments account for the majority of successful breaches — and many get through standard filters undetected.

DMS adds layered protection on top of your existing mail platform using Malwarebytes ThreatDown. This catches threats that standard filters miss. We also configure DKIM, DMARC, and SPF records to stop spoofing and impersonation. In addition, KnowBe4 and Boxphish train staff to spot and report suspicious emails before they cause damage.

    Device Security

Every device that connects to your network is a potential entry point. Laptops, mobile phones, and tablets — particularly personal devices used for work — are frequently the weakest link in an organisation’s security.

DMS manages device security through Microsoft Intune. We apply encryption, enforce multi-factor authentication, and control which applications can be installed. Furthermore, lost or stolen devices can be wiped remotely to prevent a data breach. As a result, policies apply consistently across the organisation without restricting how people work.

    Firewall Management

A firewall is only effective if it is correctly configured and kept up to date. Many organisations have firewalls that have not been reviewed in years. Over time, this leaves rules that no longer apply, ports that should be closed, and gaps that have grown as the network has changed.

DMS installs and manages Fortinet firewall solutions. We handle configuration, rule management, firmware updates, and monitoring. Where a network health check finds issues with an existing firewall, we fix those first. We do not recommend a replacement unless one is genuinely needed.
